Success Story

Helping Clients Meet Their Diversity Targets

In a tight labour market it’s important to broaden your recruitment strategy and ensure you are accessing every available talent pool. NES Fircroft is proud to have been driving change in the industry over the last decade working closely with our client to attract female engineers to their pioneering engineering projects across Brazil.

Our Solution

  • Targeted search campaigns utilising female job boards and social media spaces
  • Female focused advertising
  • Internship Engineering Program in partnership with Universities across Curitiba
  • Formed a joint Diversity committee to ensure we were working closely with the client on attraction and retention strategies for minority groups

Driving Change

Our client, established the Women on Board Program in 2022, in order to accelerate the number of female professionals in the oil and gas industry. This 5-month program included 300 hours of theoretical and practical training and visits to the Subsea Lifecycle Services, in Rio das Ostras (RJ). The program selected 20 students, from 500 applicants.

It is a masculinized market and when we launch the project we want to make it clear that women, as long as they are trained, can work offshore.
Marcela Chamano Leader of the Diversity and Inclusion program in Brazil

How Did the Internship Program Work?

NES Fircroft liaised with the best Universities in Curitiba and presented, to their students, showcasing the opportunities available and mentoring them through the recruitment and selection process.

Working together we built up a huge talent pool of female candidates which resulted in 73% female hires.
